Republican Set Up Impossible: Koirala

Nepali Congress President Girija Prasad Koirala this morning ruled out possibility of a republican set up in the country at present.
Talking to party workers in Biratnagar he said: "Republic is just a matter of bargaining but its impossible in Nepal. Republic means doing away of the monarchy but we cannot go against the King. The present situation of the nation is not favourable for the republican set up."
He said there is fear of anarchy and foreign intervention in a republic. Koirala arrived in his hometown last night without any prior notice. He is scheduled to return to Kathmandu tomorrow evening.
